It’s Time To Feel Calm And Confident In Your Own Skin

Woman standing by brick wall smiling. You may be looking for anxiety treatment in Duluth, Georgia. Look no further for a Georgia trauma therapist, Georgia chronic illness therapist, or therapist for postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety.

You remember a time when feeling anxious and overwhelmed weren’t the norm—but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?

You’ve come to the right place.

I’m Dr. Ginny Kington, and I’m a therapist in Duluth, GA. I help anxious adults who are just like you: people that have it within themselves to be more relaxed and thriving, but who just need some support to get there.

I help my clients find peace, confidence, and fulfillment by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand themselves and others.

Many of today’s solutions for coping with major life events focus on insight into how you are feeling, but neglect to focus on what you can do about it. This often leads to people feeling like they aren’t making much progress in therapy. I know that behavior change is just as important as understanding why you are feeling a certain way. For this reason, when you’re in therapy with me we will focus on both insight and helping you understand what you can do to change your situation.

I am dedicated to helping people improve their lives.

My training in clinical psychology means I have the expertise you need and deserve when looking for someone to help you cope with major life events. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be anxious, or struggling with adjusting to a major life transition.

As a chronic illness therapist, I “get it” because I also deal with chronic illness (chronic migraines). I also can relate to my clients dealing with postpartum depression and anxiety (or just anxiety and depression in general) because I dealt with postpartum depression and anxiety when I had my son twelve years ago. I know the courage it takes to show up in therapy and work on addressing these issues, and I also know how helpful therapy can be. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who really has an idea of what you’re going through.

What’s it like to work with me?

It’s natural for you to wonder what it would be like to work with me. My clients have described me as warm, empathic, and open. They have mentioned that I’m easy to talk to and nonjudgmental.

I also talk pretty frequently during therapy sessions and provide feedback on what I’m hearing from you. I am not one of those therapists that is going to just sit there and say “hmm, tell me more about that” or just sit there in silence and stare at you.

We know from research that the best indicator of whether therapy will help people is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and the client. Therefore, I consider our relationship to be an incredibly important factor in treatment.
